Job Description Summary

All resources and logistics required to perform services and maintenance activities on customers' site/property. These activities contribute to maintaining, repairing, and refurbishing sold or existing products. Includes all types of maintenance service (preventive and remedial), managing maintenance facilities, and field services engineering. Accountable for the quality of own work, subject to direct supervision, prescribed work instructions, and systems checking. Executes within a well-defined operations framework following standard operational tasks to achieve end results.

Role Overview

To act as a lead automation field service engineer, preparing, performing, testing, and commissioning marine automation activities for new builds, upgrades, and service projects. Initially based at our Marine Power Test Facility at Whetstone, Leicestershire, with potential travel abroad for up to 4 weeks after 18 months.

Key Responsibilities

• Installation and checking of cabling, circuit breakers, contactors, transformers, UPS batteries/systems, and variable speed drives.
• Commissioning and full integration of Automation Systems, including service and fault finding.
• Producing commissioned documentation in compliance with quality and safety standards, including BS EN 18001, Lloyds Register, and DNV.
• Maintaining competence through training courses and e-learning.

Skills and Qualifications

• UK National, eligible for UK security clearance to SC level.
• Proven record of Automation System commissioning.
• Ability to produce and maintain documentation to required standards.
• HNC or higher in Electrical or Electronic Engineering.
• Familiarity with IEC and marine classification rules desirable.
• Experience with MV drive commissioning and fault finding.
• Established site work record.
• Good communication skills in English.
