Job summary

Industrial Connected Talent is supporting a leading industrial automation and systems integration company in the search for an Applications Engineer / Internal Sales Engineer. The role is UK-based with flexible working options.

You will prepare quotations, configure automation solutions, estimate resources, produce topologies and act as the interface between sales and engineering teams to deliver project proposals and technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Degree or equivalent in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronic Engineering or similar.
• Understanding of industrial automation and systems integration.
• Knowledge of PLCs, SCADA/HMI, variable speed drives or control systems.
• Strong technical writing and proposal preparation skills.
• Commercial awareness with the ability to understand project costs and scope.
• Strong Microsoft Office skills, including Excel, Word and Visio.
• Excellent communication, organisation and problem-solving skills.
• Willingness to travel within the UK and occasionally overseas.

Responsibilities

• Prepare quotations, costings, technical specifications and proposals.
• Configure automation and control solutions from customer requirements.
• Estimate engineering resources, equipment and project requirements.
• Produce system topologies and supporting technical documentation.
• Act as the technical interface between sales and engineering teams.
• Attend customer surveys, tender meetings and site visits where required.
• Build strong relationships with customers, suppliers and internal teams.
