Plan B is seeking an Automatic Door Engineer to service, maintain and repair sliding, swinging and revolving doors across Hayes and surrounding sites in West London. You will join a team delivering high‑quality access solutions for retail, healthcare, transport and commercial settings.

Qualifications

Were recruiting an Automatic Door Engineer to join our West London team. This role is open to both experienced Automatic Door Engineers and engineers from PPM, Field Service or electrical maintenance backgrounds who want to progress into the automatic door industry. As an Automatic Door Engineer, youll work for a global entrance solutions provider delivering high-performance automatic doors and access systems across retail, healthcare, transport and commercial sites.

Role Overview

As an Automatic Door Engineer, youll carry out service, maintenance and repairs on sliding, swing and revolving automatic doors across Hayes and surrounding areas. This position suits an engineer with strong electrical fault-finding skills who wants structured training, progression and long-term stability.

Key Duties

• Servicing, repairing and fault finding on automatic sliding, swing and revolving doors
• Electrical checks, sensor testing and control system diagnostics
• BS EN 16005 safety checks and compliance documentation
• Attending breakdowns and delivering first time fixes
• Supporting installations and commissioning
• Providing clear updates and professional on-site service

Ideal Candidate

• Automatic door experience or PPM / Field Service / electrical maintenance background
• Strong fault-finding skills and basic electrical knowledge
• Full UK driving licence + relevant operating licences
• Confident working independently across customer sites
• Positive, reliable and customer focused approach

Salary & Benefits

• Experienced Automatic Door Engineer: up to £44,300 - £70,000
• PPM / Field Service Engineer (entry level): up to £35,000 - £55,000
• £200 weekly on call premium (£2,400 per year)
• Premium overtime (1.5x & 2x)
