Job Opportunity: Draughtsman / Draughtsperson

We are seeking a Draughtsman / Draughtsperson for work involving steel and architectural metal work around Basildon (Essex). This role can be either contract or permanent, depending on the candidate's suitability.

Key responsibilities include:

1. Preparing detailed and accurate technical drawings for steel and architectural metal work, including structural components, frames, and fixtures.
2. Collaborating with engineers and architects to understand project requirements and design specifications.
3. Producing 2D and 3D models.
4. Ensuring all drawings comply with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
5. Conducting site visits to gather measurements and assess project needs.
6. Modifying and revising designs based on feedback from clients, engineers, or project managers.
7. Preparing fabrication and assembly instructions for manufacturing teams.
8. Assisting in the preparation of project documentation, such as specifications and material lists.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Experience as a draughtsman / draughtsperson or similar role.
• Previous experience with steel work and architectural metal work or similar fields.
• Proficiency in CAD software and other relevant design tools.
• A strong understanding of engineering principles, materials, and construction methods.
