Job summary

Orion Electrotech in Dorking is seeking an Auto Electrician/Assembly Fitter to join the Assembly Department. This hands-on role works on specialist vehicles, including electrical installations and diagnostics, wiring harnesses and interior electrics, and high‑voltage battery fitting. Hours are 39 per week (Mon-Thu 7:30–16:00, Fri 7:30–15:00 with unpaid lunch).

Hourly rate £15.63–£16.32 dependent on skills. Benefits include a profit-related bonus (~5%), 25 days holiday, pension, life assurance

Qualifications

• Experience in assembly fitting or auto electrics is desirable.
• Knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics and electrical circuits is desirable.
• Apprenticeship in mechanical engineering or related field is desirable.
• A clean driving licence is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose electrical issues using diagnostic equipment.
• Modify and install electrical harnesses and wiring looms.
• Install interior electrics such as GPS and camera systems.
• Fit high-voltage batteries into electric vehicles.
• Conduct fault-finding and diagnostic work on specialist vehicles.
• Maintain records and comply with safety standards.
• Contribute to a clean, safe working environment.

About the Role

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain accurate records and comply with safety standards.
