Job summary

Remedy Recruitment Group is seeking an Autism Support Worker for a primary school in Newham. The role focuses on supporting children with autism to access the curriculum, improve social skills, and develop independence in a nurturing environment.

You will work with children one‑to‑one or in small groups, collaborating with teachers and SEN staff to implement learning plans and strategies that suit each child's needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with children with Autism or SEN.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Patient, empathetic and proactive approach to support children.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for children with ASD in the classroom.
  • Assist in developing and implementing Individualised Learning Plans (IEPs).
  • Support communication, social and behavioural development and promote inclusion.
  • Help children build independence and self-confidence.
  • Collaborate with the class teacher, SENCO and other professionals to meet each child's needs.
  • Monitor and record progress and communicate with parents and staff.
  • Ensure the safety and well-being of children at all times.
