Job summary

Milk Education, in partnership with a SEND provision, is recruiting an Autism Support Worker to join their dedicated team in Darlington. You will work closely with the Class Teacher to support pupils' education, wellbeing, and daily care needs.

The role is term-time only, 8:30–15:30, Monday to Friday, with September start. The successful candidate will have recent experience supporting children with learning disabilities and will help with feeding, personal care, and classroom activities.

Qualifications

  • Recent experience supporting children or adults with learning disabilities in care or educational settings.

Responsibilities

  • Adhere to school policies and procedures.
  • Provide support with feeding, personal care, and hygiene when required.
  • Assist in lesson delivery by adapting activities and supporting learning.
  • Help manage behaviour in line with the school's strategies.
  • Develop positive relationships with pupils to support communication and confidence.
  • Observe, track, and report on pupil progress, behaviour and well-being.

This SEND school supports pupils aged 2 to 19, many of whom have complex and multiple learning difficulties, as well as speech, language and communication needs, alongside physical or sensory challenges.

Role: Autism Support Worker

In this position, you will work closely with the Class Teacher and wider staff team to support pupils' education, wellbeing, and everyday care needs.

Key Responsibilities
