Job summary

Chestnut Hill School in Wales is seeking a Teaching Assistant to support pupils with varied and complex needs, helping them feel safe, understood and ready to learn. You will work with teachers and the wider school team to deliver personalised support in classroom, outdoors or enrichment activities.

The role emphasises building relationships, promoting independence and emotional wellbeing, with a commitment to safeguarding and inclusive education.

Qualifications

  • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 or C or above, or equivalent.
  • Caring, patient and compassionate approach.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with children and young people.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.

  • Providing calm and consistent support for pupils' emotional wellbeing and behaviour.
  • Encouraging development of confidence, independence, communication and social skills.
  • Supporting learning through classroom activities, outdoors and enrichment opportunities.
  • Adapting approach to individual needs and learning styles.
  • Working with colleagues to create a positive, nurturing and inclusive learning environment.
  • Recognising and celebrating pupil progress and achievements.
