Job summary

Axcis Education Recruitment is seeking a SEND Teaching Assistant to support two Year 3 pupils with Autism at a mainstream primary school in Southville, Bristol (BS3). The role is full-time, term-time only, ASAP start, long-term to the end of the academic year.

You will provide 1:1 and small-group support, adapt activities, and work with the SEN team to promote inclusive education and positive behaviour. DBS required and ongoing professional development provided.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting children with Autism or SEND
• Patient, calm and compassionate
• Ability to build strong relationships with Year 3 pupils
• Clear communication and consistency
• Adaptable approach for individual needs
• Team player committed to inclusive education

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support for two Year 3 pupils
• Adapt activities and resources to be accessible
• Support pupils with communication, social interaction, emotional regulation and independence
• Use positive strategies to encourage engagement and behaviour
• Collaborate with class teacher, SENCO and school team
• Create a calm, inclusive classroom environment
