Job summary

Academics in Oxford is seeking an Autism Support Worker to assist in a primary/secondary setting, supporting students aged 4–16 with autism and coexisting needs. You will help the class teacher prepare materials, supervise activities, and support learning throughout the day, contributing to a positive classroom atmosphere.

Ideal candidates have experience with SEN students, patience, and excellent communication. The role runs Monday to Friday at £90–£100 per day, with ASAP or September start.

Qualifications

• Experience with children with special educational needs (SEN).
• Patient, nurturing and keen to learn.
• Excellent communication skills with students, staff and parents.
• Understand safeguarding principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Support the class teacher with daily tasks and lesson prep.
• Help prepare learning materials and activities for the day.
• Monitor and record student progress and behaviour where required.
• Contribute to a positive, engaging learning environment in the classroom.
