Job summary

Academics Ltd, on behalf of an SEN College in Bournemouth, seeks a dedicated Learning Support Assistant for a full-time, temp-to-perm role starting ASAP. The college serves learners aged 16-25, including those with Asperger’s or high-functioning autism, with a need for supportive, calm staff.

You will provide 1:1 and small group support, guided by individual learning plans, while helping learners develop functional, vocational, academic and personal skills.

Qualifications

• Experience working with pupils with SEN, autism and/or Asperger’s.
• Experience in school/college support roles preferred.
• Ability to remain calm, empathetic and encouraging when managing challenging behaviour.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 learning support and small group assistance.
• Support learners with individual learning plans and tailored activities.
• Help develop functional, vocational, academic and personal skills across post-16 programmes.
