Job summary

Flourish Education are recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to work at a primary school in Cradley Heath. This is a full-time, long-term position starting after October Half Term and continuing until the Christmas holidays, with the possibility of extending further.

The school require a patient and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils in Year 2 and Year 3 with Special Educational Needs, including Autism.

Qualifications

• Teaching Assistant Level 2 or Level 3 qualification.
• Experience supporting children with Autism or SEND in a UK primary school.
• Good understanding of strategies for autism, including visual aids and structured routines.
• Experience providing 1:1 and small group support in Key Stage 1 or 2.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach with strong communication and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Support Year 2 and Year 3 pupils with additional SEND needs, particularly Autism.
• Provide 1:1 and small group support to help pupils access learning activities.
• Adapt classroom resources and activities to meet individual learning needs.
• Encourage communication, social interaction and independence within the classroom.
• Work closely with teachers and the SENCO to implement support strategies.
