Job summary

Disability North is recruiting two Social Personal Assistants to support a young boy with non-verbal autism and ADHD in Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne. The role requires 10 hours per week during term time, including after-school and weekend support.

A full, clean UK driving licence and business insurance are essential, as Leo uses a wheelchair and needs close supervision. You will help Leo access community activities, accompany him on outings, and assist with personal care after toilet use.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children with autism and ADHD.
• Ability to demonstrate coping strategies for challenging moments.
• Willingness to work with a child requiring close supervision.

Responsibilities

• Support Leo in accessing local community activities.
• Accompany Leo to chosen activities and provide encouragement.
• Provide personal care after toilet and assist with safety due to dysregulation.
