North Yorkshire Centre for Independent Living is seeking a part-time Child Support Assistant to support a 7-year-old autistic boy with his interests and activities. The role involves four hours per week during term-time (Saturday mornings) and up to eight hours in school holidays, with flexible ad-hoc days possible.

The child is non-verbal and uses an AAC device; a car is needed due to rural location. A DBS check is required and paid by the local authority.

Qualifications

• Experience with autism and accessing to car is required.
• Enhanced DBS is required (paid by local authority).
• Patience, understanding, and ability to work with a child on the autism spectrum.

Responsabilités

• Support a 7-year-old autistic boy with his interests and hobbies.
• Assist for 4 hours per week during term-time (Saturday mornings) and 8 hours in school holidays (ad-hoc).
• Help the family with outings to parks, farms, swimming, and outdoor activities.
• Ensure safe transport to activities, requiring access to a car due to rural location.
