Job summary

Vision for Education Ltd. is recruiting an Autism Support Assistant in Kirkbymoorside to support learners with autism in a dedicated primary SEND setting.

This full-time role (Mon-Fri) starts as soon as possible with the potential for a permanent contract and a January 2027 start option. The school serves learners aged 8–19 with SEND, and candidates with experience in SEND, patience and a drive to develop their skills are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or vulnerable individuals.
• Experience with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) preferred.
• Patience, motivation and determination to support learners.
• Desire to develop and expand safeguarding and SEND skills.

Responsibilities

• Support children with autism in daily activities and learning tasks.
• Follow school safeguarding policies and procedures.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to plan and deliver targeted support.

Autism Support Assistant, Kirkbymoorside, pay £95 - £110 per day (depending on experience and/or qualifications)

Vision for Education are recruiting for an Autism Support Assistant to work in a a vibrant, nurturing, and ambitious school community where every young person is valued, celebrated, and supported to thrive. The school caters for learners aged 8 – 19 with SEND and is a specialist setting for Autism. This is a full-time role (Monday to Friday), starting as soon as possible, with the potential to lead to a permanent contract. We also have positions available for a January 2027 start as well, so whether you are available now or planning ahead for the new academic year, we would like to hear from you.

Requirements:

To be considered for the Autism Support Assistant position, the school have asked for:

• Someone who has worked with children, young people or vulnerable adults in any capacity
• Someone who may have experience with supporting people with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities
• Someone with great patience, drive and determination
• Someone looking to extend and expand their skillset
