Job summary

Pertemps Education Network in the United Kingdom is seeking a Psychology, Autism & Speech and Language Support Assistant for a specialist independent school near Quidenham, Norfolk. This is a full-time, term-time only role with an ASAP start and a daily rate of £110.

You will deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group interventions, using autism-friendly strategies and collaborating with SALTs, teachers and pastoral staff to support emotional wellbeing and progress.

Qualifications

• Degree in Psychology, Linguistics, Speech Sciences, Education or Child Development (or working towards).
• Genuine interest in autism, communication and complex SEN.
• Strong interpersonal and teamwork skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small-group communication and learning interventions.
• Use autism-friendly strategies including visual supports, PECS, Makaton and social stories.
• Work closely with SALTs, teachers and pastoral staff to embed therapeutic approaches.
• Support students' emotional regulation, confidence and independence.
• Monitor and report on student progress and wellbeing.
• Uphold safeguarding, inclusion and positive behaviour standards.
