Job summary

Teaching Personnel is seeking an experienced Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism in Dereham and the surrounding areas. This role involves working with children who have Special Educational Needs in primary, secondary or specialist settings.

You will provide tailored support to pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis, collaborating with teaching staff to help learners achieve their targets and develop essential skills for independence.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with SEN, particularly Autism.
• Empathy, patience and commitment to helping learners.
• Ability to support social, emotional, and academic development across settings.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils on a one-to-one and small-group basis in line with EHCP targets.
• Implement personalised interventions to meet individual learning needs.
• Adapt activities and materials to support a range of abilities.
• Encourage positive behaviour, independence and confidence.
• Build strong relationships with pupils, staff and families.
• Assist with social, emotional and academic development in and out of the classroom.
