TeacherActive Ltd is recruiting a Teaching Assistant for a specialist education setting in Preston, starting immediately on a temporary-to-permanent basis. The role focuses on supporting pupils with autism and additional needs both academically and socially in a small, structured environment.

You will work closely with teachers to deliver differentiated activities, help manage behaviour using calm strategies, and provide personal care when required, all within a supportive team dedicated to

Autism Specialist Teaching Assistants Needed in Preston

TeacherActive is currently recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a specialist education setting in the Preston area on a temporary to permanent basis, with an immediate start available.

This role is based within a small, supportive independent specialist school that provides education for children and young people who have autism and additional social, emotional, and behavioural needs. The school prides itself on creating a structured, nurturing, and therapeutic environment where pupils are supported to develop confidence, independence, and essential life skills. Classes are intentionally small with high staff‑to‑student ratios, allowing for personalised support and strong relationships between staff and pupils.

The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupils both academically and socially, helping them to engage with learning and regulate behaviour in a positive and consistent way.

• Supporting pupils with autism and additional needs in both classroom and pastoral settings
