ASD specialist TA should have worked with young pupils on the autism spectrum, understand IEPs, and be able to apply de-escalation techniques while supporting SEN pupils with resilience and dedication.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young pupils on the autism spectrum.
• Strong understanding of autism and how to use IEPs to support pupils.
• Able to keep pupils focused and manage triggers to prevent behavioural issues.
• Resilience and tenacity to persevere in a challenging role.

Responsibilities

• Support ASD pupils in early years within a primary setting.
• Assist with classroom activities and individualised learning plans.
• Apply de-escalation techniques to maintain a calm learning environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and communicate with SEN staff.
