Aspire People are partnering with a specialist SEN school in Hinckley to place an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant. You will support pupils with autism, focusing on learning, communication, and emotional wellbeing, within a structured classroom setting.

Ideal candidates will have experience with autism and a patient, nurturing approach. The role runs Monday–Friday, term time only, with a daily rate of £105. Aspire People provides dedicated consultant support during placements.

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of ASC and related needs.
  • Experience using strategies to support communication, behaviour and emotional regulation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with autism.
  • Support pupils to access learning and develop independence.
  • Use appropriate strategies to support communication and interaction.
  • Help pupils manage emotions and regulate behaviour.
  • Create a calm, structured environment.
  • Support pupils with sensory needs and individual learning plans.
  • Work closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals.
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with pupils.
  • Encourage confidence, independence and positive engagement in school.

Pay: £105 per day

Working Pattern: Monday-Friday, term time only

Aspire People have partnered with a specialist SEN school in Hinckley who are looking for a passionate and experienced Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant to join their dedicated team.

About the Role

As an Autism Specialist Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with pupils who have autism and a range of associated additional needs. You will play a key role in supporting their learning, communication, emotional wellbeing and personal development.

Your responsibilities will include:
  • Providing 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with autism
  • Supporting pupils to access learning and develop their independence
  • Using appropriate strategies to support communication and interaction
  • Helping pupils manage emotions and regulate their behaviour
  • Creating a calm, consistent and structured environment
  • Supporting pupils with sensory needs and individual learning plans
  • Working closely with teachers, SEN staff and other professionals
  • Building strong, trusting relationships with pupils
  • Encouraging confidence, independence and positive engagement in school
