Job summary

National Autistic Society in Southall is seeking a passionate Primary Teacher to deliver autism-focused education at Sybil Elgar School. You will create engaging, personalised lessons, plan curriculum, and work with multidisciplinary staff to support autistic pupils.

This permanent role is 35 hours per week, with safeguarding checks and professional development opportunities. The school emphasises a safe, caring environment where every pupil can thrive and reach their full potential.

Qualifications

• Experience teaching within a special school environment.
• Experience working with autistic children and young people.
• Understanding the impact of autism on learning.

Responsibilities

• Plan, develop and deliver a personalised and engaging curriculum for autistic pupils.
• Create and implement individualised educational programmes in collaboration with multidisciplinary teams.
• Provide high-quality teaching and learning that meets statutory requirements.
• Take responsibility for classroom management, including learning environments, staff and pupils.
