Job summary

Worcestershire County Council is seeking two full-time Specialist Practitioners to join the Specialist Teaching Service, working across Worcestershire with an office base in a Worcestershire Children’s Services location. The role involves a mix of remote (online) work and in-person duties across various settings, including family homes.

The successful candidates will deliver evidence-based programmes for autistic children, support families and schools, and train staff to become Worcestershire

Qualifications

  • Experience supporting pupils with special needs.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a passion for working with autistic children and other neurodivergences.
  • Neuro-affirming ethos and a curiosity for underlying reasons of a child's presenting need.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and deliver a range of evidence-based programmes and interventions to support autistic children, their families and their settings across Worcestershire.
  • Undertake direct 1:1 and small group work.
  • Deliver specific interventions and train school staff to become Worcestershire Autism Mentors.
  • Support the Autism/CCN Team with the delivery of relevant training (face to face and online).
