Job summary

Teaching Personnel Ltd. Royston is seeking a dedicated SEND Teaching Assistant to support pupils with Autism in specialist SEND settings.

You will provide 1:1 and small group assistance, help pupils access learning and develop communication and social skills in a calm, nurturing environment. The role is full-time and long-term with ongoing training and a dedicated consultant for placement support, offering valuable experience within specialist SEND settings.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children or young people with Autism.
• Calm, patient and nurturing approach.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.
• Experience in SEND settings is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with Autism.
• Assist with personalised learning programmes.
• Support communication, social interaction and emotional regulation.
• Promote positive behaviour through consistent strategies.
• Record progress and contribute to pupil reviews.
