Job summary

Preston School in Yeovil, Somerset, is seeking an inspirational Autism Teaching Assistant to join the SEND team in the AEPC base. You will support students with autism across languages and numeracy, delivering targeted interventions and helping maintain high standards of behaviour and progress.

The successful candidate will work closely with the SENDCo and classroom staff, with opportunities for professional development within a supportive school community in Somerset.

Qualifications

• An inspirational Autism Teaching Assistant.
• A commitment to supporting strong student outcomes with high-quality teaching and targeted interventions.
• Ability to work with small groups and one-to-one support as required.
• Strong English and Maths skills to communicate with families.

Responsibilities

• Support students in the Autism base (AEPC) throughout their time at Preston School.
• Work with small groups or individually to provide targeted intervention.
• Assist class teachers to help pupils achieve outcomes and progress.
