Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD is seeking an Autism Support / Learning Support Assistant (ASC/SEMH LSA) for a specialist SEMH school in Rishton, near Blackburn. You will support pupils aged 5-16 with ASC/SEMH needs, helping with emotional regulation and learning in a nurturing environment.

This is a full-time role, initially temp-to-perm with ASAP start. A Level 2/3 TA or CACHE qualification is advantageous, and an enhanced DBS check (Update Service) is preferred. Training will be provided.

Qualifications

• Experience working with ASC/SEMH/ADHD in school or similar settings.
• Qualifications such as Level 2/3 TA or CACHE are advantageous.
• Enhanced DBS check or willingness to apply for Update Service.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with ASC/SEMH.
• Support behavioural and emotional regulation using positive strategies.
• Assist with tailored lessons and adapt materials to learning needs.
• Collaborate with speech and language therapists, occupational therapists, and staff on plans.
• Be a positive, consistent role model in a safe, welcoming environment.
