Job summary

Aveley Primary, part of Catalyst Academies Trust in Thurrock, is recruiting an experienced teacher to lead a newly established Autism Resource Centre. The successful candidate will work with the SENCo and leadership team, manage dedicated staff, and ensure high-quality provision for children with autism who spend time in the centre and join mainstream classes as appropriate.

The role requires energy, excellent communication with families and external agencies, and the ability to oversee records,

Qualifications

• Experienced teacher to lead an Autism Resource Centre.
• Coordinate provision for children with EHCPs.
• Strong communication with families, staff, governors and external agencies.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop and oversee the day-to-day operation of the Autism Resource Centre
• Coordinate provision for children with EHCPs
• Liaise with the SENCo and support staff, modelling best practice
• Ensure records are accurate and up-to-date
• Support parents to ensure progress for children
• Liaise with external agencies such as educational psychology, health and social services
