Job summary

Lift Hamford is seeking a committed Teaching Assistant to support autistic pupils at The Ark Autism Hub. You will work with teachers and the SENDCo to provide personalised learning support and foster a safe, inclusive classroom environment.

Joining the team offers opportunities for Level 3 and Level 5 apprenticeships and access to teacher training. This part-time role starts immediately with the potential for professional development within Lift Schools.

Qualifications

• GCSE Maths and English at grade 4 or above, or willing to work towards.
• Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or willingness to pursue.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Patience and empathy in interactions with diverse students.
• Collaborative approach within the classroom and with staff.
• Resilience when faced with challenging situations.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils' learning within The Ark Autism Hub and help them access the curriculum.
• Adapt support to pupils' individual needs including autism, communication and sensory differences.
• Work with teachers to deliver engaging activities and targeted interventions.
• Help pupils develop communication, social skills, emotional regulation and independence.
• Build positive relationships to promote confidence, resilience and wellbeing.
• Collaborate with teaching staff, SENDCo and parents to support development.
