Job summary

Northumberland County Council is seeking an Autism Family Support Worker to provide a comprehensive family support service for children and young people affected by autism. The role involves collaboration with specialist teachers, schools and families to deliver tailored support and planning across home and education settings.

Applicants should be dynamic and dedicated, able to deliver parenting support and run autism-focused programmes, with safeguarding awareness and strong case management

Qualifications

• Experience delivering family support services to children and young people.

Responsibilities

• Work with families identified as needing support after assessment by a Specialist Autism Teacher.
• Coordinate with schools, teachers and families to deliver support plans.
• Deliver planned interventions and provide resources for home use.
• Signpost families to services and coordinate with partner agencies.
• Promote active involvement of children and families in decisions.
