Job summary

Pertemps Education Network is seeking an Autism, ADHD & Mental Health Support Assistant for a mainstream primary school in Brixton, South London. You will provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs and help promote emotional regulation and social development.

Ideal candidates are Psychology, Mental Health, Child Development or Education graduates with strong communication and interpersonal skills. Previous experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small-group support to pupils with additional needs.
• Support children with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and associated communication difficulties.
• Promote emotional regulation, positive behaviour and social development.
• Support pupils experiencing difficulties with anxiety, emotional regulation and engagement.
• Develop trusting relationships to build confidence, resilience and independence.
• Adapt learning activities to meet individual educational and developmental needs.
• Work collaboratively with teachers, the SENCO and wider support professionals.

The Role

• Aspiring Educational Psychologists, Clinical Psychologists and Child Therapists encouraged to apply.
• Patient, empathetic, resilient and proactive.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Previous experience supporting children or individuals with additional needs is advantageous but not essential.
