Ernest Gordon Recruitment is recruiting for an Electrical Authorised Person / HV Engineer based in Sheffield with UK-wide travel. The role offers a strong salary, a company bonus, training, progression and a vehicle with overtime.

You will work on HV/LV switching, maintenance and commissioning across diverse industrial and utilities environments. You will join a growing equipment engineering team, mentor by Senior APs, and have clear development toward Senior Authorised Person status while

Qualifications

• Electrical/ HV Authorised Person with HV experience.
• Experience in HV/LV switching, maintenance and commissioning.
• NVQ Level 3 and 18th Edition qualification or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out HV/LV switching operations, isolations and maintenance within your authorisation level.
• Assist with switching schedules, permits to work and safe systems of work.
• Test, maintenance, installation and commissioning of HV/LV switchgear, transformers and distribution equipment.
• Collaborate with Senior Authorised Persons and engineers on various projects.
• Travel to client sites across the UK for planned maintenance, outages and fault finding.
• Pursue further training with opportunities to progress to Senior Authorised Person.

Are you an Electrical Engineer or HV Authorised Person with experience working on high-voltage electrical systems, looking to join a growing engineering company offering further training, career progression and the opportunity to develop towards Senior Authorised Person status?

Due to continued growth, they are looking to recruit an Electrical Authorised Person or experienced HV Engineer to support electrical operations, switching activities and maintenance across various UK sites.

In this role, you will be involved in HV/LV switching operations, electrical isolations, maintenance and commissioning of switchgear, transformers and associated equipment. You will work alongside experienced engineers and Senior Authorised Persons, with opportunities to develop your technical knowledge and take on greater responsibility as you progress.

This role would suit an existing Authorised Person or experienced Electrical Engineer with a background in HV systems, looking to develop their career within a supportive business offering excellent earning potential, further training and long-term progression.

The Role:

• Carry out and support HV/LV switching operations, isolations and electrical maintenance within your level of authorisation.
• Assist with the preparation of switching schedules, permits to work and safe systems of work.
• Testing, maintenance, installation and commissioning of HV/LV switchgear, transformers and electrical distribution equipment.
• Work alongside Senior Authorised Persons and experienced engineers on a variety of electrical projects.
• Travel to client sites across the UK, supporting planned maintenance, outages and electrical fault finding.
• Further training and development with opportunities to progress towards Senior Authorised Person status.

The Person:

• Electrical Engineer, HV Engineer or Authorised Person with experience working on high-voltage electrical systems.
• Experience in electrical maintenance, installation, switching or commissioning within industrial, utilities or similar environments.
• Electrical qualifications such as NVQ Level 3, 18th Edition or equivalent.
• Full UK driving licence and willingness to travel to client sites.
