Job summary

Sky is seeking an Authentication Services Engineer to support enterprise-scale authentication platforms, including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, DNS and DHCP. You will handle BAU tasks, patching, compliance, and security improvements in a fast-moving telecoms environment.

This hybrid role requires strong troubleshooting, automation mindset, and collaboration with a broader team. You’ll work on on-call shifts, recovery exercises, and ensure secure, resilient services for Sky's systems.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting enterprise-scale technology platforms in a high-pressure environment.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with problem solving and risk identification.
• Willingness to use automation to improve platform operations and outcomes.
• Hands-on experience supporting authentication and infrastructure technologies (Entra ID, AD, DNS, DHCP).
• Excellent interpersonal skills with energy, enthusiasm and commitment to service.

Responsibilities

• Provide BAU support for Authentication Services, primarily in the Telecoms Management Environment, including out-of-hours on-call rota.
• Work with the team to ensure all servers are patched to latest levels.
• Ensure TSA compliance requirements are met and provide evidence for auditors.
• Resolve identified vulnerabilities in a secure and timely manner.
• Assist with identifying and proposing improvements to the services, processes and technologies managed by the team.
• Collaborate to ensure compliant, secure, resilient and supportable solutions.
• Work to ensure platform service quality using a customer-focused and analytical approach to complex problem solving.
• Assist in regular recovery exercises in a safe environment.

Role/Team overview

Reporting to theUKAuthentication Services Platform Manager,you’llprovide technicalsupportforthe authentication infrastructure used across a large, complex enterprise.You’llapplytechnical knowledge, careful attention to detail and a process-driven approach to the day-to-day managementand improvementof services including Active Directory,Microsoft Entra ID,Active Directory,DNSand DHCP.

The Authentication Services team owns the end-to-end user authentication experience at Sky. The team designs,develops,engineersandoperatescore platforms including Active DirectoryDomain Services,Microsoft Entra ID,DNSandDHCP, with a focus on proactive supportandsecure service delivery.

Whatyou’lldo

• Provide business-as-usual support for Authentication Services,primarily inthe Telecoms Management Environment (TME), including out-of-hours support through anOn-Callrota.

Minimumrequirements

• Relevantindustry experience supporting and engineering enterprise-scale technology platforms in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment.

• Troubleshooting and analytical skills, with experience resolving complex technical problems andidentifyingemerging risks.

• Show willingness touse automation to improve platform operations and service outcomes.

• Hands-on experiencesupportingauthentication and infrastructure technologies, including Microsoft Entra ID, ActiveDirectory,DNSandDHCP.

• Excellent interpersonalskills, with energy,enthusiasmand a strong commitment to excellent service.
