Job summary

Sky UK is seeking an Authentication Services Technical Specialist to maintain and improve the authentication infrastructure across Sky. You will manage Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, DNS and DHCP, applying a process-driven approach to service delivery.

You will work in a hybrid role with two days at the Osterley office weekly, handling BAU tasks, security compliance, vulnerability management and incident resolution in a fast-paced, enterprise-scale environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide BAU support for Authentication Services, including on-call duties.
• Patch servers to latest levels and ensure TSA compliance evidence for auditors.
• Resolve vulnerabilities in a timely, secure manner and propose improvements.
• Collaborate to develop secure, resilient and supportable solutions across teams.
• Maintain platform service quality with customer-focused, analytical problem solving.

Role/Team overview

Reporting to the UK Authentication Services Platform Manager, you’ll provide technical support for the authentication infrastructure used across a large, complex enterprise. You’ll apply technical knowledge, careful attention to detail and a process-driven approach to the day-to-day management and improvement of services including Active Directory, Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.

The Authentication Services team owns the end-to-end user authentication experience at Sky. The team designs, develops, engineers and operates core platforms including Active Directory Domain Services, Microsoft Entra ID, DNS and DHCP, with a focus on proactive support and secure service delivery.

Whatyou’lldo

• Provide business-as-usual support for Authentication Services, primarily in the Telecoms Management Environment (TME), including out-of-hours support through an On-Call rota.
• Work with the team to ensure all servers are patched to latest levels.
• Ensure TSA (Telecoms Security Act) compliance requirements are met and provide evidence for auditors.
• Resolve identified vulnerabilities in a secure and timely manner.
• Assist with identifying and proposing improvements to the services, processes and technologies managed by the team.
• Work with the wider team to ensure compliance and technical requirements are developed into secure, resilient and supportable solutions.
• Work to ensure platform service quality, using a customer-focused and analytical approach to complex problem solving and prioritisation.
• Assist in regular recovery exercises in a safe and segregated environment.
• Relevant industry experience supporting and engineering enterprise-scale technology platforms in a high-pressure, fast-moving environment.
• Troubleshooting and analytical skills, with experience resolving complex technical problems and identifying emerging risks.
• Show willingness to use automation to improve platform operations and service outcomes.
• Hands‑on experience supporting authentication and infrastructure technologies, including Microsoft Entra ID, Active Directory, DNS and DHCP.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with energy, enthusiasm and a strong commitment to excellent service.
