Audit Stream Learning & Development - Business Partnering Manager for Projects

Ideas | People | Trust

We're BDO, an accountancy and business advisory firm providing the advice and solutions entrepreneurial organizations need to navigate today's changing world.

We work with Britain's economic engine—ambitious, entrepreneurial, high-growth businesses—and directly advise their owners and management teams.

Our Approach

Broaden your horizons

The Business Partnering (BP) team plays a vital role within Learning & Development (L&D), partnering with the Audit Stream to identify learning needs and develop appropriate responses. They work alongside the business to drive the L&D agenda and coordinate with support teams on related activities.

The BP team acts as the business voice within L&D, providing oversight and challenge while developing and implementing solutions aligned with business needs. They represent L&D to the business, especially within the Audit Stream.

The Business Partnering Manager for Projects will work directly with stakeholders to identify needs outside our Early in Careers and Post-qualified curricula, focusing on project-based activities that require coordination across curricula or specific programs.

Using their understanding of business priorities, they will align activities across L&D offerings, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure responses meet ongoing needs. They will collaborate with team members to ensure learning needs analysis is complete and share best practices.

They will work with the Learning Development team to translate business objectives into effective learning interventions, support program delivery, and review learning effectiveness. They may also support onsite program management and facilitation.

We value authenticity, agility, and personal growth, offering flexible working arrangements and career development resources.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of learning solutions aligned with business needs.
  • Advocate for business needs within L&D, ensuring responses support organizational goals.
  • Act as a subject matter expert on L&D, advising business leaders on solutions.
  • Report progress to the business against plans.
  • Challenge and validate learning needs and planned responses.
  • Promote L&D activities to foster a strong learning culture.
  • Support delivery of the Audit L&D curriculum.
  • Build strategic relationships with the Audit Stream and wider business to align L&D initiatives.
  • Coordinate learning needs analysis and curriculum planning with stakeholders.
  • Assist in onsite program delivery and facilitation where appropriate.
  • Introduce innovative approaches to personal and professional development.
  • Lead change initiatives and model best practices.
Required Skills and Experience
  • Management experience or equivalent.
  • Strong understanding of Audit and regulatory environments.
  • Previous L&D experience preferred.
  • Ability to build relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven influence and strategic project management skills.
  • Facilitation experience is beneficial.
  • Problem-solving skills with a focus on commercial viability.
  • Teamwork, coaching, and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills.
  • Understanding of business strategy and operational excellence.
