Job description

Audit Stream Learning & Development – Business Partnering Manager for Projects

We’re BDO, an accountancy and business advisory firm providing advice and solutions to entrepreneurial organizations navigating today’s changing world.

We work with Britain’s economic engines—ambitious, entrepreneurial, high-growth businesses—and directly advise their owners and management teams.

We’ll broaden your horizons

The Business Partnering (BP) team plays a vital role within L&D, partnering with the Audit Stream to identify learning needs and develop appropriate responses. They work alongside the business to drive the Learning and Development agenda and coordinate with support teams on related activities.

The BP team acts as the business voice within L&D, providing oversight and challenge, and representing L&D to the business within the Audit Stream.

The Business Partnering Manager for Projects will work directly with stakeholders to identify needs outside our Early in Careers and Post-qualified curricula, focusing on project-based activities requiring coordination across curricula and programmes.

Using their understanding of business priorities, they will align activities across L&D offerings, coordinate with stakeholders, and ensure responses meet ongoing needs. They will collaborate with other BP team members to coordinate learning needs analysis and share best practices.

They will work with the Learning Development team to ensure learning objectives are understood and translated into effective interventions, support programme delivery, and review learning effectiveness with Monitoring, Reporting & Compliance teams. They may also support onsite programme management and facilitation.

You’ll be able to be yourself; we’ll recognize and value you, and support agile working arrangements.

At BDO, we’ll help you achieve your personal goals and career ambitions with structured programmes and resources.

In this role you will:

  • Support the scoping, development, implementation, and evaluation of learning solutions aligned with business needs
  • Advocate for business needs within L&D, ensuring responses support organizational goals
  • Act as a subject matter expert, advising business leaders on learning solutions
  • Report progress against plans to the business
  • Provide objective challenge on learning needs and planned responses
  • Promote L&D activities to foster an effective learning culture
  • Support delivery of the Audit L&D curriculum
  • Develop strategic relationships with the Audit Stream and wider business to align L&D initiatives
  • Coordinate learning needs analysis and curriculum development with stakeholders and L&D team
  • Support onsite programme delivery and facilitation where appropriate
  • Bring innovative thinking to develop leading professional development initiatives
  • Lead change initiatives by example and seek support as needed

Required skills and experience:

  • Experienced Manager (or equivalent)
  • Strong understanding of Audit and regulatory environment
  • Previous L&D experience preferred
  • Ability to build and maintain relationships with senior stakeholders
  • Proven stakeholder influence and strategic project management skills
  • Experience in facilitation is beneficial
  • Problem-solving focus with commercially viable solutions
  • Strong teamworking, coaching, and leadership skills
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills
  • Understanding of business strategy and operational excellence
