Job summary

Michael Page is seeking an ambitious Audit Senior for a growing independent accountancy practice in Stockport. You will lead audit assignments across a varied client portfolio and work closely with managers and partners.

You will mentor junior team members, review work to high standards, and help develop the practice with business development support. ACA/ACCA qualification and previous practice audit experience are expected.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead audits from planning to completion.

A highly regarded and growing independent accountancy practice in Stockport is looking to recruit an Audit Senior to join its expanding team.

Description

As an Audit Senior, you will take a lead role in delivering audit assignments for a broad range of clients, from owner-managed businesses to larger corporate entities. You'll work closely with managers and partners while also supporting and mentoring junior team members.

The role offers a combination of audit and advisory exposure, providing an excellent platform for career development and progression.

Key responsibilities include:

• Leading audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Preparing and reviewing audit work in line with regulatory and professional standards.
• Supervising and coaching junior members of the audit team.
• Building strong relationships with clients and acting as a key point of contact during assignments.
• Identifying audit and business risks and proposing practical solutions.
• Drafting and presenting audit findings and recommendations.
• Supporting managers and partners with client service and business development activities.
• Assisting with statutory accounts preparation where required.

Profile

The successful Audit Senior will:

• Be ACA or ACCA qualified, part-qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Have previous audit experience within an accountancy practice environment.
• Possess strong technical knowledge and attention to detail.
• Be confident communicating with clients and colleagues at all levels.
• Have experience leading audits and supervising junior staff.
• Be proactive, organised, and keen to develop professionally.
• Demonstrate a genuine interest in building a long-term career within practice.
• Able to work from the firms Nantwich office.
