Job summary

Sumer Group Holdings Limited is seeking an Audit Senior in Tamworth for a permanent role within the Audit department. You will support on-site audits, liaise with clients, and help deliver high-quality work while taking on increasing responsibility.

Qualifying ACA/ACCA candidates with strong audit experience and IFRS/FRS knowledge are encouraged to apply. You will mentor juniors and contribute to audit findings, fostering a collaborative team environment.

Qualifications

  • As a near-qualified or qualified ACA/ACCA, you will contribute to audit engagements.
  • You bring experience in auditing and accounts and understand quality and regulatory standards.
  • You are familiar with risk assessment and control measures within audits.
  • You maintain up-to-date knowledge of accounting and auditing standards (IFRS/FRS).

Responsibilities

  • Support on-site audits, assisting in executing the plan and allocating tasks.
  • Maintain audit quality in line with policies and standards.
  • Mentor junior auditors, review work, and develop technical knowledge.
  • Contribute to audit findings reports, noting risks and key messages.
  • Develop client relationships to support smooth audits and satisfaction.
  • Collaborate across service lines to improve overall client experience.
  • Support team development and share knowledge within the group.
  • Pursue ongoing professional growth and expand audit engagement contributions.

Audit Senior

Description

As an Audit Senior, you will support the delivery of audit assignments, working closely with seniors, assistant managers, and managers. You will assist in executing audit procedures, liaising with clients, and ensuring high-quality work. Additionally, you will begin to take on more responsibility in audit engagements, reviewing aspects of junior team members' work, providing support, and developing your technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support on-site audits, assisting in executing the agreed plan and contributing to the effective management of resources and task allocation.
  • Ensure audit quality, adhering to company policies and auditing standards while following best practices.
  • Assist and mentor audit juniors, reviewing aspects of their work, providing support, and developing your own technical knowledge.
  • Contribute to audit findings reports, helping to identify key risks, areas of concern, and significant messages for review by senior team members.
  • Develop client relationships, communicating effectively to support a smooth audit process and enhance client satisfaction.
  • Collaborate across service lines, understanding where multiple services are provided to clients and working with other teams to improve the overall client experience.
  • Support team development, sharing knowledge, assisting colleagues, and contributing to a positive and collaborative working environment.
  • Continue professional growth, proactively seeking learning opportunities, refining technical skills, and identifying ways to contribute more effectively to audit engagements.
Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
  • Soon to complete or completed ACA/ACCA studies
  • Proven experience in audit and accounts, with a solid understanding of quality and regulatory standards
  • Familiar with risk assessment and effective control measures within the audit process
  • Skilled in managing client relationships and addressing their needs effectively
  • Up-to-date with relevant accounting and auditing standards, including FRS and IFRS
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to identify issues and suggest practical solutions
  • Experience with CaseWare and CCH is beneficial but not required
