We are looking for an Audit Senior to join our External Audit team, based in our Glasgow office.
Our External Audit team supports organisations across a broad range of sectors, including corporate, charity, education, housing associations, and SMEs/owner-managed businesses. Our work goes beyond statutory compliance, focusing on delivering value, insight, and a high standard of client service.
As an Audit Senior, you will take responsibility for leading audits from planning through to completion, working with clients of varying size and complexity. You will act as a key point of contact for clients, building trusted relationships and ensuring work is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
You will also play an important role in supervising and supporting junior team members, providing on-the-job guidance, reviewing work, and contributing to a positive and collaborative team environment. Working closely with managers, directors, and partners, you will help ensure audit quality, regulatory compliance, and continuous improvement across the team.
At Wbg, career progression within audit is built on technical excellence, professional judgement, and leadership capability. Many of our audit partners and senior leaders have progressed internally, reflecting the Firm’s long-term commitment to developing ICAS-trained professionals and promoting from within based on performance and potential.
For experienced hires, development is focused on progression beyond delivery. You will be supported through defined audit career pathways, clear performance objectives, and targeted mentoring, and supervising and developing teams. Alongside this, the Firm supports continued technical development through ICAS, ensuring you remain up to date and confident in applying auditing and accounting standards in practice.
As the audit practice continues to evolve and grow, this creates opportunities to progress into management roles, take on specialist audit or advisory responsibilities, and, for those with the ambition and capability, progress toward partnership. Wbg offers a professional environment where audit professionals can build a sustainable long-term career grounded in quality, integrity, and professional development.
