Job summary

ProTalent is assisting a local Sittingbourne/Kent practice recruiting an Audit Senior to lead audit engagements from planning through to completion. This hybrid role places you as day-to-day client contact, with mentoring responsibilities for junior staff and close collaboration with managers.

The successful candidate will be ACA or ACCA qualified with prior practice audit experience, a strong eye for detail, and a proactive approach to managing client files and deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Leading audits from planning to completion.

• Preparing and reviewing accounts, and some tax, VAT and PAYE work.

Salary: Competitive, depending on experience

ABOUT THE FIRM

My client is a well-established local practice that's part of a large UK and Ireland accountancy and business advisory group. It has the feel of a close-knit local office, with the training, technical support and specialist colleagues of a much bigger firm behind it. The audit team is growing, which is why they're hiring.

THE ROLE

You'll lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, running the fieldwork, keeping the file in good order and getting it ready for manager review. You'll be the day-to-day contact for your clients, so there's plenty of client time. You'll also help the juniors on each job and answer their questions, which is a big part of what makes a good senior.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING

• Leading audits from planning to completion
