Job summary

RSM UK is offering a school/college leaver apprenticeship in External Audit, designed to build a solid foundation for a future in accounting. You’ll join a tight team, start working on client tasks quickly, and progress toward a Chartered Accountant qualification with support from mentors.

Your start date is 14 September 2027, and you’ll be office-based or at client sites as you develop relationships and skills during the early stages of your career.

Qualifications

• UCAS points requirements across three A levels (112) or four Scottish Highers/Advanced Highers (104), or Irish Leaving Certificate.
• Right to live and work in the UK for this role.
• Excellent written and verbal communication to convey complex information clearly.
• Ability to analyse and interpret data to solve problems.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

• Work with audit colleagues to conduct risk-focused reviews of clients’ financial records, processes and controls.
• Start studying towards Chartered Accountant qualification; sit first exams within months of joining.
• Becoming a key team member from day one and taking on individual responsibility for projects over time.
• Work with a diverse client base, including owner-managed businesses, large groups, charities and not-for-profits.
