Job summary

RSM UK is offering a school/college leaver apprenticeship in External Audit in Preston. You will work with audit colleagues to review clients' financial records and controls, building a solid foundation for a Chartered Accountant qualification.

From day one you will join a team, handle client work, and progress toward professional exams with guidance. The programme features on-the-job learning, structured training, and a clear path to becoming a trusted advisor for clients across diverse sectors.

Qualifications

• UCAS points threshold or equivalent qualification required.
• Existing right to live and work in the UK for this role.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex information clearly and concisely.
• Ability to analyse and interpret data to solve problems.
• Excellent interpersonal skills to build relationships and stay calm under pressure.
• Genuine interest in business and commerce with good organisational and time management abilities.
• Willingness to travel to client sites and other offices as required.
• RSM does not accept General Studies, AS levels or the EPQ.

Responsibilities

• Work with audit colleagues to conduct risk-focused reviews of clients' financial records, processes and controls.
• Play a crucial role in ensuring accuracy of financial statements and stakeholder confidence.
• Start studying towards Chartered Accountant qualification from day one with exam progression.
• Becoming a key member of the team from day one, taking on client work quickly and gradually assuming responsibility.
