Job summary

Broadgate is seeking an Audit Manager to lead a portfolio of charity and not-for-profit clients from planning to completion. You’ll build strong client relationships and act as the primary audit contact, ensuring high-quality, efficient delivery.

The role offers hybrid working with Canterbury or Chatham locations, a varied client portfolio and clear progression within a growing non-profit sector team. Candidates should bring external audit experience in professional practice and Charity SORP

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA/ICAS or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience external auditing within professional practice.
• Experience with charities or not-for-profit organisations is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Own a portfolio of charity and not-for-profit clients from planning through sign-off.
• Build trusted relationships and be the main audit contact for clients.
• Lead audits, delivering efficiently and to a high standard.
• Work with charities, educational establishments and social enterprises.
• Apply Charity SORP knowledge and support junior staff.

Audit Manager – Non-Profit & Charity Sector

Canterbury or Chatham | Hybrid | £67,000–£85,000 depending on experience

A role with purpose, variety and plenty of room to make your markIf you're an experienced Audit Manager who enjoys working closely with clients rather than simply moving from one audit file to the next, this could be a very interesting opportunity.

We're working with a highly regarded professional services firm with a strong reputation for its people, its client relationships and the quality of work it delivers.

The role sits within a growing Non-Profit & Charity sector team, giving you the opportunity to work with a varied portfolio of organisations where your advice genuinely matters.And yes, there will still be audit files. But thankfully, that's not the whole story.

What you'll be doing

You’ll take ownership of a portfolio of charity and not-for-profit clients, overseeing engagements from initial planning through to completion and sign-off.

You’ll also

• Build strong, trusted relationships with clients and become a genuine point of contact for their audit and wider financial needs.


• Lead audit assignments, making sure they are delivered efficiently, commercially and to a high standard.


• Work with a varied portfolio including charities, not-for-profit organisations, educational establishments and social enterprises.


• Apply your technical knowledge to more complex audit matters, including Charity SORP requirements.


• Review work and support more junior members of the team, helping them develop their technical and professional skills.


• Get involved in improving processes, sharing knowledge and strengthening the firm’s offering within the sector.


• Identify opportunities to support clients beyond the immediate audit where appropriate.


• Play an active role in developing new relationships and contributing to the continued growth of the non-profit and charity portfolio.


• Maintain a strong focus on audit quality, risk management and professional standards.

What we’re looking for

• You’ll ideally be ACA, ACCA, ICAS or similarly qualified, with solid external audit experience gained within professional practice.


• Experience working with charities, not-for-profit organisations, education or social enterprises would be highly advantageous, particularly if you’re comfortable with Charity SORP.
