Job summary

Accountable Recruitment is seeking an Audit Manager for its Liverpool team. This role offers a salary of circa £52,000 - £62,000 DOE and a flexible hybrid working model. You will lead audits, manage client portfolios, and work with Directors to drive high-quality, commercially focused services.

You’ll mentor juniors, develop staff, and contribute to the growth of the Manchester audit team within a people-first practice that values collaboration and progression.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified with external audit experience in practice.
• Experience at Audit Manager or Assistant Manager level, managing assignments and client relationships.
• Experience with a varied portfolio including owner-managed businesses.
• Strong technical audit knowledge with organisational and commercial awareness.
• Proactive, personable and able to build long-term client relationships.
• Experience mentoring junior staff and developing the audit team.
• Confident working with senior leadership to drive firm-wide success.
• CCH experience is advantageous but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Managing a varied portfolio of audit clients across sectors.
• Leading audit assignments from planning to completion with timelines and quality.
• Collaborating with Directors to deliver a high-quality, commercially focused service.
• Building strong client relationships as a trusted contact.
• Identifying opportunities for advisory and business support services.
• Reviewing audit files and ensuring compliance with standards.
• Supervising and mentoring Audit Seniors and trainees.
• Supporting growth of the Manchester audit team.
