The Grant Thornton Audit and Assurance team has a track record of operating at the highest levels for clients in a broad range of industry sectors and ranging in size from entrepreneurial start-ups to multi-national groups. Our experienced team of professionals have developed an efficient approach that delivers high-quality audits and comprehensive value-added advice, with transparency and collaboration throughout.

By joining our Audit and Assurance team you will work closely with our audit Partners and you will have a real opportunity to provide a valued opinion within the team. Excellent opportunities exist for ambitious and driven candidates to progress within the firm.

Main responsibilities:

  • Lead and manage audit engagements from planning to completion, ensuring they are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Oversee the preparation of audit plans, risk assessments, and audit programs tailored to each client’s specific needs.
  • Supervise and mentor audit staff, providing guidance and support to ensure high-quality work and professional growth.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, serving as their main point of contact for audit-related matters.
  • Ensure audit engagements comply with professional standards, regulatory requirements, and the firm’s quality control procedures.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for additional services and business development with existing and prospective clients.

Skills and attributes:

  • Minimum 5 years' experience required.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA or similar qualification).
  • Portfolio management experience.
  • Commercially aware.
  • Strong technical knowledge.
  • Experience in audit engagements.
  • Worked with a diverse portfolio of clients.
  • Strong interpersonal skills are essential.
  • Experience gained in a Big 4 accounting firm advantageous but not essential.
