Job summary

Crowe Watson Recruitment partners with a well-established firm of Chartered Accountants in Horsham to appoint an experienced Audit Manager. You will oversee a diverse portfolio, guiding audits from planning through to completion, and mentor junior staff.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified and UK practice experience.
• Strong knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS.

Responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients from planning to completion.
• Supervise and mentor junior members of the audit team.
• Liaise with clients and Partners, building long-term relationships.
• Ensure audits meet current standards and regulations.
• Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to growth of the audit department.

Working closely with Partners and senior management, the successful Audit Manager will take ownership of a varied portfolio of clients, managing audit engagements from planning through to completion. What is the day-to-day of the role:

• Manage a portfolio of audit clients across a range of sectors, from planning to completion
• Supervise and mentor junior members of the audit team, reviewing their work and supporting development
• Liaise directly with clients and Partners, building strong long-term relationships
• Ensure audits are completed to a high standard, in line with current auditing standards and regulations
• Identify areas for process improvement and contribute to the wider growth of the audit department

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• ACA or ACCA qualified, with proven audit experience gained within practice
• Previous experience working within a UK Practice environment
• Strong technical knowledge of UK GAAP and/or IFRS
• Excellent communication and client relationship management skills
• Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop junior team members
