Job summary

McGinnis Loy Associates is seeking an ACA/ACCA qualified Audit Manager / Audit & Accounts Manager for their Reading-based offices. You will lead a portfolio of medium-sized and larger audit assignments, oversee junior staff, liaise with Partners, and contribute to business development opportunities.

The role requires a strong track record in audit and a willingness to travel to client sites. A salary up to £70,000 plus benefits is on offer, with a company pension, healthcare and 23 days holiday.

Qualifications

• 3+ years post-qualified Audit experience in SME and larger corporate businesses.
• Experience in Top100 or well-established regional accountancy firms.
• Proven ability to manage multiple audit assignments and meet deadlines.

Responsibilities

Audit & Accounts Manager / Audit Manager - SUPERB ROLE

McGinnis Loy Associates is proud to be working with a fast-growing Top20 Accountancy Firm who are looking to strengthen their Audit function and recruit a Qualified ACA or ACCA Audit Manager / Audit & Accounts Manager for their Reading based offices. Reporting to one of the Directors, you will be responsible for:

• Leading a variety of medium-sized and larger Audit assignments across multiple industry sectors within the Thames Valley, liaising with Partners when required
• Reviewing audit files, undertaking audit planning for upcoming jobs and leading/assisting Audit juniors with fieldwork
• Ensuring audit assignments are completed to a high standard, in time and within cost budgets agreed with Directors
• Supervising and reviewing on-site jobs completed by up to 4 junior Audit staff
• Using accounting software to provide accurate reporting for clients and third-parties
• Reviewing monthly and quarterly management accounts for limited companies and partnerships when required
• Finalising statutory accounts and related papers as required by Partners for final review and sign-off
• Some involvement with business development and bid-work in relation to new audit clients
• Providing input to product pricing, including new client fee quotes
• Applying your technical audit knowledge to juniors through on the job training

To be considered for the role you should be a Qualified ACA or ACCA Audit Supervisor or Manager, ideally with 3+ years post-qualified Audit experience of SME and larger corporate businesses, and a working history either with a Top100 or a well-established regional Accountancy firm. You will have experience working in a team environment on multiple audit clients, building relationships with clients and internal management teams, able to prioritise and work to strict audit deadlines. As you will be attending client sites, you do need to be a car driver for this position.
