Job summary

Cooper Parry in Reading is seeking an Audit Manager to deliver exceptional service to owner-managed and privately owned businesses. You'll lead audit assignments, coach junior staff and build strong client relationships.

Working with Directors and Partners, you'll manage a diverse portfolio, develop business opportunities, and contribute to the firm's growth with a proactive, collaborative approach.

Qualifications

• ACA/ACCA qualified or equivalent with relevant audit experience.
• Proven experience in a managerial-level role or at Assistant Manager level.
• Demonstrated ability to manage a variety of audit assignments and develop teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan, execute and finalise audit assignments for owner-managed clients.
• Review work, provide feedback and develop junior team members.
• Manage client portfolios and act as a trusted adviser on audit and business matters.
• Build strong client relationships and identify opportunities to add value.
• Participate in networking, proposals, tenders and business development.

As our London Audit team continues to grow, we're looking for an Audit Manager to join us and deliver exceptional service to our expanding portfolio of owner-managed and privately owned businesses.

About The Team…

Our Audit team across the South has experienced significant growth over the past year, and we have even bigger ambitions for 2026.

Well established in the SME and owner-managed business market, we support a diverse portfolio of clients across a wide range of industries. This variety provides excellent exposure, varied workloads, and the opportunity to build strong, long‑term client relationships, ensuring no two days are ever the same.

About The Day To Day…

Working closely with our Directors and Partners, you'll play a key role in managing and developing a portfolio of owner-managed and privately owned business clients. Your responsibilities will include:

• Planning, executing and finalising audit assignments.
• Reviewing work, providing constructive feedback and supporting the development of the wider team.
• Managing a portfolio of clients and acting as a trusted adviser on audit and business matters.
• Building and maintaining strong client relationships and identifying opportunities to add value.
• Participating in networking and business development activities.
• Supporting Partners with proposals, tenders and new business opportunities.
• Coaching, mentoring and developing junior team members.

• Be ACA/ACCA qualified (or equivalent)
• Have prior experience in a managerial level role, or proven experience at Assistant Manager level
• Be able to demonstrate experience managing a variety of audit assignments
• Have bags of personality, you’re good with people and, oh… you’ll be pretty good with numbers too
• Be ambitious and have the desire to push, challenge, and develop your career
