Job summary

Brabner Fox is seeking a credible Audit Manager to lead the audit offering within a well-connected SME/Owner-Led practice. The role requires on-site presence in the UK and provides an opportunity to work towards Responsible Individual status within 2–3 years.

You will manage end-to-end audits, oversee a four-person team, engage with diverse not-for-profit and professional clients, and contribute to pitches, tenders and non-audit projects while upholding high quality standards.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualified, already operating at Audit Manager level.
• Strong working knowledge of UK auditing and accounting standards.
• General practice background.
• Track record of juggling multiple audits and deadlines at once.
• A genuine focus on quality and attention to detail.
• Exposure to SRA Accounts Rules Reviews is a bonus, not essential.

Responsibilities

• Running audit engagements end-to-end, from planning through to sign-off.
• Acting as the day-to-day contact for a varied client portfolio — SMEs, owner-managed businesses, professional practices, and not-for-profits.
• Managing a team of four directly.
• Getting stuck into business development: supporting pitches and tenders, spotting opportunities within the existing client base, and building your commercial profile within the firm.
• Picking up non-audit project work as it arises — due diligence assignments, technical accounting queries, general problem-solving.
• Supporting the firm's Audit Quality Control processes.

My client is an established practice well networked within the SME/Owner-Led business market, that is seeking a credible and qualified Audit Manager.

If you are confident, ambitious, and have the desire to become a Responsible Individual (2-3 years) understudying the existing management team with the aim to lead the audit offering of the firm, this is the role for you.

On-site presence is a must. UK based residents will only be considered.
