An established and highly regarded accountancy practice is looking to appoint an experienced Audit Manager to join its growing team. This is an excellent opportunity for an ACA-qualified auditor who enjoys managing client relationships, leading audit assignments and developing team members, while working within a collaborative and forward-thinking environment.

The role offers a varied workload, combining audit responsibilities with broader accountancy work, making it ideal for someone who enjoys working closely with a diverse portfolio of businesses.

The Role

• Manage a varied portfolio of audit clients across a range of industries and business sizes.
• Lead audit assignments from planning through to completion, ensuring work is delivered to a high professional standard.
• Work closely with senior leadership, providing support on complex engagements and contributing to the successful delivery of client projects.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted adviser and first point of contact.
• Review audit files and provide guidance and support to junior members of the team.
• Assist with wider accounts and business advisory work where required.
• Monitor project progress, manage deadlines and ensure resources are effectively allocated.
• Identify opportunities to improve client service and contribute to the ongoing development of the audit function.
• Support the continued development of junior staff through mentoring and technical coaching.

About You

• ACA qualified with a strong background in external audit gained within an accountancy practice.
• Significant experience managing audit assignments and overseeing a varied client portfolio.
• Confident building long-term relationships with clients and understanding their commercial objectives.
• Strong leadership skills with previous experience supervising and developing team members.
• Well organised with the ability to manage multiple assignments and competing deadlines.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commercially aware with a proactive and solutions-focused approach.
• Previous exposure to accounts preparation or wider general practice work would be beneficial.
