Audit Manager – Not-for-Profit Sector

Location: London (Hybrid Working)

A forward-thinking, mid-tier accountancy firm is currently seeking an experienced Audit Manager to join its growing Not-for-Profit team. With two roles available, this is a standout opportunity for professionals who are passionate about purpose-led work and are ready to take the next step in their audit career.

These positions are well-suited to qualified managers who thrive in environments where high standards, strong client relationships, and sector expertise go hand-in-hand. You’ll manage a varied and meaningful client portfolio—ranging from charities and academy trusts to other not-for-profit bodies—where your technical skills will directly support organisations that make a tangible impact.

The Role

As an Audit Manager, you’ll lead the delivery of high-quality assurance services across your portfolio, acting as a trusted adviser to clients and mentor to your team. You’ll contribute to innovation in audit processes, ensure compliance with sector-specific regulations (including SORP), and play an active role in shaping the future of the audit practice.

Key responsibilities include:

• Overseeing the full audit cycle—from planning and budgeting through to completion and final review
• Managing a diverse team, ensuring quality output, timely delivery, and constructive feedback
• Developing and maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders, including trustees and governors
• Providing technical guidance on sector-specific issues and identifying opportunities for value-add services
• Mentoring junior team members, fostering a culture of support, challenge, and professional development
• Driving process improvements and contributing to strategic initiatives across the audit practice

What We’re Looking For

• ACA, ACCA, or ICAS qualified (or equivalent)
• Minimum 5 years of audit experience, including at least 3 years in the UK
• Strong working knowledge of SORP, FRS 102, and relevant regulatory frameworks
• Proven ability to manage multiple engagements, lead audit teams, and oversee end-to-end delivery
• Excellent communication skills with the confidence to advise and present to clients at senior level
• A collaborative mindset with the ability to motivate and coach others
• Experience using CaseWare and audit data tools (preferred)
