Job summary

Butler Rose in Huddersfield is seeking an Audit & Accounts Manager to join a well-established UK practice. The role is ~75% Audit and ~25% Accounts, offering exposure to a diverse client portfolio and clear progression.

You will manage audit assignments from planning through to completion, review accounts and audit files, and mentor junior staff, working closely with Partners to maintain high technical standards.

Qualifications

• ACA or ACCA qualification required.
• Minimum 2 years' experience at Senior level within a UK accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing audits from planning through to completion.
• Experience supervising, mentoring, and developing staff.
• Experience using IRIS for accounts and tax returns.

Responsibilities

Audit & Accounts Manager

£45,000 - £55,000 DOE

Butler Rose Public Practice is delighted to be supporting a well-established, medium-sized accountancy firm in their search for an Audit & Accounts Manager to join their growing team.

This varied and rewarding role will be approximately 75% Audit and 25% Accounts, offering exposure to a diverse client portfolio while providing genuine opportunities for long-term career progression. This position would be particularly suited to an experienced Audit Senior looking to take the next step into a management role within a supportive and ambitious practice.

As an Audit & Accounts Manager, you will work closely with the Partners and be responsible for managing audit assignments from planning through to completion, reviewing accounts and audit files, and supporting the development of junior team members.

Key Responsibilities:

• Manage audit assignments from planning through to completion.
• Lead engagements and act as the main point of contact for clients.
• Review accounts and audit files on behalf of the Partners.
• Prepare accounts and tax returns using IRIS software.

Personal Requirements:

• ACA or ACCA qualification (essential).
• A minimum of 2 years experience at Senior level within a UK accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing audits from planning through to completion.
• Strong accounts preparation and audit file review experience.
• Previous experience supervising, mentoring, and developing staff.
• Experience using IRIS software for accounts and tax return preparation.
